FAQs

Does the Ground Need to be Level for installation?

Yes, all surfaces for Stock Tank must be completely level PRIOR to installation. Lonestar Stock Tanks is not responsible for leveling surfaces. We can install on grass, concrete pads, and or leveled decomposed granite or compacted sand. If your existing surfaces need leveling, decomposed granite and or compacted sand work great.

Is all equipment included in the installation?

Yes, Lonestar Stock Tanks will provide any and all equipment necessary to complete the installation of the Stock Tank, Filters, and all attachments necessary. In addition to equipment, Lone Star Stock tanks will run quality control tests including backwashing the system, rinsing, and filtering. In addition, sanitation will be added to the pool along with all glass media required for filtration.

What is the size of my pool?

Lonestar Stock Tanks provides American Made Hastings Galvanized steel stock tanks. These tanks come in either 6,8,9 or 10 feet in width. The depth on all models is 24 inches.

Is a Permit Required for installation?

Because these stock tanks are 2 feet in depth, a permit is not required in the overwhelming amount of cities and counties here in Texas. If concerned, we recommend you check with your HOA with any questions.

Does my stock tank require electrical modifications to my home?

All installations will require an external 110 Volt outlet to run your filter pump. All filters come pre wired with a GFCI safety mechanism on their 15 foot cord. If you do not have an outlet within 15 feet of your designated area, an outdoor rated heavy duty extension cord will be necessary. Recommended up to 14 gauge in most scenarios.

Will my stock tank rust?

At Lonestar Stock Tanks we highly recommend using hydrogen peroxide oxidation between 27% and 35% to minimize damage and early rust to our galvanized tanks. Chlorine is always an option, but it is our opinion that the chemicals tend to be much harsher on the tanks. All tanks will wear over time and begin to rust, in the later years. Following a strict regimen of care to your tank will protect it for years to come.
